Version 1.0 — [date]
1. Acceptance of these terms
Registering an account, buying a play or otherwise using North Grand Royale means you accept these terms; if you do not, please do not use the site.
"We" means the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC), licence reference Section 207 of the Criminal Code of Canada and the Gaming Control Act (British Columbia). "You" means the player.
2. Order of precedence
If documents disagree, the one higher in this list prevails:
- The official game conditions for the draw game
- Any supplemental conditions issued for British Columbia
- The player agreement and platform terms of use
- These terms
- Any other content on this site, such as guides, summaries and FAQs
3. Eligibility
Play is open only to people who meet all of these conditions:
- aged 19 or over;
- ordinarily resident in British Columbia;
- physically located in British Columbia when registering and when playing.
4. Accounts
One account per person, in your own legal name, with accurate details. Accounts cannot be shared, transferred or run for someone else, and you are responsible for activity under yours.
5. Identity verification (KYC)
Age, identity and residency are checked with government-issued identification before you can play or withdraw, and checks may be repeated. Until verification is complete, the account may be restricted.
6. Anti-money laundering & source of funds
We follow applicable anti-money-laundering rules, keep required records and may ask you to evidence where your funds come from. Deposits, play or withdrawals can be paused until we are satisfied.
7. Buying plays
Each play costs $3. A play only counts once payment is accepted and it is recorded on the central gaming system, whose record is final. Accepted plays cannot be cancelled, amended or refunded except where the rules say so.
8. Draws, cut-off & results
Draws take place on Mondays and Thursdays. Online sales close at 7:21 PM PT on draw days; later plays go into the next draw. The official result prevails over anything else shown on this site.
9. Cancelled, delayed or rescheduled draws
- A delayed draw is held as soon as practicable, and plays already entered stay valid.
- If a draw is cancelled outright, the plays are void and the purchase price is refunded.
- If a result is later invalidated, affected plays are treated as cancelled and any prize paid on it may be reclaimed.
10. Prizes & validation
Prizes are paid in tiers, including a non-cash Free Play at the bottom. Every prize is validated against the central gaming system first, and plays that were not recorded or that break the rules are not payable. Shared top-tier prizes are split under the game conditions.
11. How a "for life" prize is paid
Top-tier for-life prizes are annuities rather than lump sums:
- Payments are made in periodic instalments under the published schedule, with a guaranteed minimum period.
- If the winner dies within the guaranteed period, the remainder goes to a named beneficiary or the estate.
- A single cash payout may be chosen instead; the choice is made at claim time and is final.
- An annuity cannot be sold, assigned or pledged unless the rules permit it.
12. Claiming a prize
How you claim depends on where the ticket was bought and the prize size. Larger prizes need identity verification and a signed declaration, and for-life prizes are never paid automatically. Thresholds and procedures may change.
Tickets bought online
Smaller prizes are credited or paid automatically after validation; mid-sized prizes follow a separate validation step; the largest need a formal claim with the operator.
Retail tickets
Small prizes are paid at an authorised retailer; larger ones are claimed at a regional payout location, by mail or in person, as the published procedure describes.
13. Prize expiry
Prizes, including unused Free Plays, expire one year after the draw date. Late claims are not paid, and we are not obliged to remind you.
14. Publicity & use of your name
Claiming a major prize means agreeing to publication of limited winner details so the public can see prizes are paid. Anonymity is only considered in exceptional cases, such as a documented safety risk.
15. Tax
Winnings are generally treated as windfalls, but income earned on them later may be taxable. This is general information, not tax advice; take independent advice about your own position.
16. Free Play
A Free Play has no cash value and is applied automatically as a line in the next draw.
17. Deposits, withdrawals & refunds
- Use payment methods in your own name; third-party instruments are refused.
- Limits, timings and processing checks are shown at the point of transaction.
- We charge no fee for standard transactions, though your bank might.
- Withdrawals go back to the original source where possible.
- Unused balance can be withdrawn after verification; plays already entered are not refundable.
- The account is for play only and is not a banking service.
18. Chargebacks
Disputing a payment with your bank instead of contacting us suspends the account while we investigate. An unjustified chargeback can lead to permanent closure and reporting to payment networks or law enforcement.
19. Inactive & dormant accounts
Twelve months without activity makes an account inactive, and we will try to contact you first. Thirty-six months makes it dormant and it may be closed, with any balance returned or handled as unclaimed.
20. Closing an account
You may close your account at any time; this is not the same as self-exclusion. We may suspend or close one on notice for reasons such as ineligibility, failed verification, duplicate accounts, self-exclusion, refused source-of-funds requests, prohibited use, unjustified chargebacks, legal requirements or suspected fraud. Any withdrawable balance is returned, apart from amounts under investigation or void.
21. Errors & malfunctions
Where a technical, human, pricing or display error affects a play, result, prize or balance, the affected item can be voided or corrected, and amounts credited in error can be reversed. Please report any error in your favour; exploiting one is prohibited.
22. Prohibited use
You must not:
- hold several accounts or use someone else's identity;
- disguise your location, for example with a VPN or proxy;
- use bots, scripts or automation, or scrape the site;
- join unauthorised syndicates or buy plays for others;
- use funds that are not yours or come from crime;
- collude, exploit errors or try to breach system security.
23. Service availability
We do not promise uninterrupted service. Outages do not extend a draw cut-off, so buy early rather than close to the deadline.
24. Responsible gambling
You can set spend limits, session limits and reminders in your account. For free, confidential support, contact Gambling Support BC on 1-888-795-6111.
25. Privacy
Personal information is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy, which form part of these terms.
26. Intellectual property
Site content, design and code belong to us or our licensors. You may view and print pages for personal, non-commercial use only.
27. Limitation of liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise the site is provided "as is", we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, our total liability is capped, and we are not responsible for third parties or for prizes that are void or expired.
28. Complaints & escalation
Complaints follow three stages:
- Stage 1: write to us at support@northgrandroyale.com and we will acknowledge and reply within stated times.
- Stage 2: ask for an internal review by someone not involved in the first decision.
- Stage 3: refer the matter to the Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO), the regulator for British Columbia.
29. Force majeure
Neither side is liable for failures caused by events beyond reasonable control; obligations are suspended while the event lasts, and long events let either party end the arrangement.
30. Changes to these terms
Updates take effect when posted with a new version and date. Material changes get at least 30 days' notice on the site and, where possible, by email.
31. Assignment, severability & entire agreement
- You may not assign your rights; we may assign ours on notice.
- An invalid clause is cut back as little as needed and the rest stays in force.
- These terms and the linked policies are the whole agreement.
- Delay in enforcing a right is not a waiver.
- No third party can enforce these terms.
32. Language of the agreement
These terms are in English, and the English version governs over any translation.
33. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws that apply there, under the oversight of the Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO).
